Today the Colombian government and the FARC signed a definitive cease-fire, effectively ending over 5o years of conflict. This conflict killed over 220,000 people, mainly civilians, and displaced more than 5 million Colombians. This cease-fire does not mean an end to Colombia’s problems, but it is a huge, necessary step.
